Previous Conference:ROBOCOMM 2007 |
Conference SiteROBOCOMM will take place at the University of Southern Denmark in the charming town of Odense, Denmark. From Copenhaguen to Odense The closest airport to University of Southern Denmark, Odense, is Copenhagen Airport. From Copenhagen airport there is a direct train to Odense station (2hr.) that leaves every half hour. Tickets can be bought at the airport and costs about DKK 235 (EURO 35) one-way. The train goes first to Copenhagen central station and then out the same way it got in to go towards Odense. If you want to spend a day in Copenhagen you can take the metro from the airport to downtown Copenhagen (20min) and from there catch a train from Copenhagen Central Station to Odense. From Odense Central Station to the University Of Southern Denmark Catching a no. 40, 41 or 42 bus - all marked “Universitet” - is a quick and easy way to go to the Conference site. The bus leaves from Odense Central Railway Station every 10 minutes. The bus is parked on the stop marked "Plads B" on the southern side of the train tracks at the bottom of the station building (go through the station building, down the stairs, exit to your left). It is a 20-minute ride. You should get off the bus at the first university campus stop (just outside the city, the automatic announcement is “Svømmehallen”) and follow the conference signs to reach the ROBOCOMM conference room. The bus driver often only accepts exact change, so we recommend getting a travel card: A 10-tour electronic travel card costs DKK 155 + a deposit of DKK 50 (a total of approx. 27 EUR). The card is available from two sales points (DSB kiosks) at the railway station: one at the ground floor of the station building, the other one at the second floor. Alternatively, you may take a taxi to the University which costs about approx. DKK 150 (EURO 21). In the morning, the relevant buses for catching the 9:00 session leave at 7:55, 8:10, 8:20, and 8:30, for more information see Tuesday morning bus schedule.
You can also do travel planning using this website, which covers all public transportation in Denmark. |
